When should I register? USCIS strongly recommends that you register at least 5-7 business days prior to the training seminar; however, please register as soon as possible. USCIS will accept late registrations, if space permits. Registration will close once the event venue reaches full capacity.
How will I know if my registration was received? Once USCIS receives your completed registration form, we will send you a confirmation email within 5-7 business days of receipt. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please send us a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Will I have to go through security at the event? For events held at a USCIS facility, you must go through security to gain entry into the building. Please bring a valid government-issued photo identification.
If I have attended a USCIS training seminar in the past, should I still attend? Yes. USCIS tries to introduce new ideas and promising practices for building, enhancing, and maintaining a comprehensive adult citizenship education program.
May I attend if I live outside the state where the event is being held? Yes. Seminars are open to all educators regardless of place of residence.
What materials or documents should I bring to the training seminar? For some seminars, you may be instructed to download certain handouts from the Citizenship Resource Center, or instructed to read designated materials prior to the event.
Can someone else attend the seminar in my place? Substitutions may be made at any time. Please contact us at email@example.com with the name and registration form of the person who will be taking your place, if known prior to the event. Otherwise, your substitute may notify us at the registration table on the day of the seminar.
Will the seminar be canceled if bad weather is expected? USCIS makes every effort to hold all scheduled training seminars as planned. In instances of severe weather, USCIS will notify all registered participants via email to confirm if the training will be held. If the seminar is held at a USCIS facility and the federal government is closed in your area, the seminar will be canceled.
